BN James Shields

I would like to add Joey Votto, but Gallardo is coming off the DL soon so I will actually have to clear two roster spots. Any suggestions?

Here's my squad. How can I find room for an add or two?
Aside from dropping players, consider trading up. One of the things that I try and do is find a guy that I can trade two players for one of his.

Example: I packaged Mark Reynolds with Yuniesky Betancourt to get Miguel Tejada.

Its a good way to reduce your roster numbers for FA pickups and obtain better players.
Reply:Tough question, but first off I would most definately get rid of Heath Bell. He won't save to many games with Trevor there, so not much of an upside there. Then you should add Votto. Also I would change Hudson and Joe Saunders on your roster. Hudson is a stud on a great team, and Saunders is..... a nobody. Those are my suggestions. Hope this helped.
Reply:The players I would consider dropping are Heath Bell and James Shields. Bell doesn't help your team much since he doesn't pick up saves, and Shields isn't that good. Gallardo helps your team more than Shields and Votto will help your team more than Bell.

What do u think of my fantasy baseball team?
solid at everything except releif pitching strengths will be batting average and rbi weakness hr and rp
Reply:your only strengths are steals, strikeouts.

unless it is a 20 team league pedroia should not be drafted (no power, no speed)

saito is your only closer until ryan comes back and saito is nursing minor ailments and is 38.

If you win with this team I want to join your league
Reply:ok, but depends on the scoring system.......and trade bedard now while u can get a few decen t players for him; he's going to have a sub-par year
Reply:thats an ugly pitching staff but your infield is great i guess it is hard though to get a dominant team,

I'm getting rid of Heath Bell, which of these players should I take?

Phil Hughes

Chris Carpenter

I'm getting rid of Heath Bell, which of these players should I take?
Why are you getting rid of Bell? Hoffman is one bad pitch from health issues, and Bell has a closer's mentality and is being groomed to take over. If you do drop him, get Jonathan Broxton or Matt Garza...
Reply:do u need closers or starters? i like lowe perez and wainwright for sps and jones and percival for rps
Reply:If you would rather have another reliver than take Joe Borowski, Todd Jones, Jeremy Accordo, Tony Pena, in that order, but after that it is better to keep Bell. If you want a starter take Oliver Perez, Derek Lowe, Zack Greike, Joe Blanton, Bronson Arroyo, Adam Wainwright, Clay Buchholz, Tom Gorzelanny, Andy Pettitte, in that order.
Reply:I'd take a flier with Troy Percival. He will close for the Rays, and their team will be decent, not good. He should get 30 saves, have a sub-3.00 era and have more k than IP. If you change your mind and get a starter, take a chance on Phil Hughes. He is filthy but young. Should get 13-15 wins and 160+ k's.
Reply:borowski and jones are solid for saves if you can stomach the ERA, they blow up frequently, but both will get over 30 saves. gregg and pena are closers that are a bit less volatile, but their jobs aren't as secure.

I give your team a 7...I suggest packaging some of your players together to trade for "better players".

For instance:Vernon Wells+Cano for Bradley Phillips

or: Vernon Wells+Jeter for J.Rollins (I don't like V.Wells)

Then replace your empty roster spaces with pitchers/closers.

(Large offencive benches are a waste of roster space.)

Good Luck!
Reply:It's a good team in a 8-team league. It's not unbelievably good. Peavy in the 2nd round might have been a early (but I don't know your league's scoring system). Not great in the steals department. I wouldn't want Pudge for a starting catcher in an 8 team league.
Reply:I think it could use a few toches just alittle but other wise its ok. My parents me and my bro's have a fantsey football team
Reply:BULL! In an eight man league you would never end up with these players ,unless your drafting against your wife bridge league
Reply:Good. Love Derek Jeter!

Reply:i would give u a 10 because u have amazing hitting and amazing pitching. i honestly have not seen a team that's that good. i don't know how the heck u got those players when u have 8 other people playing against u. they must not know a lot of baseball to let u get a team like that. it's like a all-star team except better.
Reply:Terrible
Reply:It's really good!!! don't know what else to say.... I would like you to get a better first baseman but it won't matter that much....... Try to trade Jeter and Swisher for Texeira and a guy like Betancourt cuz u know what Texeira can do and Betancourt is a shourtstop with a great upside...
Reply:dude u need some cubs on that team. cubs for life!!!!!!!
Reply:goood. Well the pitcher could be better. by the way tejada was on the mitchell report

Yes, I know my team is terrible for any standard league, but my league has 17 teams in it. It's a 15x15 Rotto league and with the 17 teams, the good players were gone after about Round 10. Please rate, keeping that in mind.

P: Chuck James (Atl - SP)

P: Jon Leicester (Bal - SP)

I know that Chuck James is injured and will probably start the season on the DL but there was really no one else good left in the last round of the draft, so I'll cut him soon.

Explain why you give these ratings.

Please rate my fantasy baseball team?
Catcher: Ivan Rodriguez is a good catcher, granted he was better a few years ago. He will still put up decent numbers considering he is on Detroit, but they wont be as good as another starting catcher.

First: Albert Pujols is probably the best first baseman in the league, barely beating the Phils Ryan Howard. Despite all the games he missed due to injuries last season he was still able to put up good numbers. Look for the numbers you are used to seeing from him: 100+ runs and RBIs, 35+ HRs

Second: Clearly, you waited a little too long to pick a second baseman. Pedroia is probably the 15th best second baseman in the league, right around the middle of the pack. But still, he plays for Boston so expect some offense. You should see an average around .300 and 100+ runs scored from the reigning AL rookie of the year

Third: I think a lot of people are starting to think Cipper is washed up. I advise you not to be one of them. Jones is still one of the cornerstones to the Atlanta offense, especially since the other Jones left. Expect nearly 100 runs scored and RBIs and 25+ homeruns.

Shortstop: Khalil Greene is actually a very safe pick as SS. He swings at a lot so he will only hit a tad above .250, but he can still give you nearly 100 runs and RBIs, and 20+ homeruns.

Outfield: Beltran will be Beltran again this year, so he is a safe pick as always. Delmon Yound is still just learning about everything. He tends to swing at everything. He has good speed but no plate discipline at all. Anderson still puts up decent numbers, but I am prety sure he will begin to see less playing time and then fall to a bench spot.

Utility: Josh Willingham is a young outfielder for Florida, but who isnt young on the Marlins roster. He is a great source of power and should come close to triple digit runs and RBIs, with 20+ homeruns.

Pitchers: Santana a given. After the Mets paid $20 million a season for him he better be good, expect 20+ wins. Phil Hughes is a reliable pitcher for the Yankees expect 10-15 wins from him. Matt Garza (especially after it was announced earlier today that Kazmir has a shoulder strain) may be counted on greatly by the Rays this year to do great work, despite the fact that he is probably third in their rotation. Could be the top sleeper starter of the year, or could flop. Betancourt could be considered the sleeper reliever of the year. If he holds to that, expect a lot from him this year.

I am going to give Joba Chamberlain his own little section because his situation is tricky. If you are trying to use him as a trade bait I would suggest getting an actual closer in return. The only problem with Chamberlain is how the Yankees plan on using him. From what I hear they want to limit him to about 150 IP this season tops! Their goal is to start him in the bullpen for the beginning of the year. If you want to trade him I would suggest doing it after he has put up some good bullpen session in order to get the most for him. If you wait too long however, the Yankees plan on moving him down to the minors for a month or so to prepare his arm for being a starter. This means getting him used to more innings pitched, full games, and so on. At that point no one will want him, you should just put him on your DL until he gets called back up. At that point he should be a starter for the Yankees and depending on his numbers you may want to keep him or may still wish to trade him away. But keep in mind that he wont put up any points for a month or so while he is in the minors, but I advise keeping him on your roster somehow.

Overall i rate your team at a 7 out of 10 (10 being the best cleary). Look for sleeper pitchers in the free agency market though.
Reply:8 or 9. not too many holes in your lineup. the only problem is pujols is questionable this year cause of injuries and you could use a little more steals. everything is great
Reply:If you are trading Joba you HAVE to get a legit closer in return. You have not 1 person on your team that will get consistent saves. Pudge is a decent option at Catcher and I would hold off on trading him or "upgrading" until you see how he does in this crazy potent Tigers lineup. I would check out Jon Garland and see if he is available on FA in your league. The guy went undrafted in most leagues I've done thus far and he is only 1 year removed from back to back 18 win seasons. Now he's playing for the Angels instead of the White Sox...should be huge.
Reply:ur team really isnt good at all.. i wood say a 5 out of 10
Reply:it looks good for a 17 man league
Reply:well for a 17 team league, your hitting looks great, i dont think many people could get better hitters than you in a 17 team league

your starting pitchers are good, but you dont really have a closer, try trading Joba for a closer, someone like Trevor Hoffman or Joe Borowski
Reply:Offense isn't bad. You're right about trying to upgrade at C but don't dangle Joba for that. Pitching is okay, Santana is great, relief is so-so.

Why would you join a 17 team league?
Reply:you'll be top 7! you got Hughes, and Santana, then your RP are great, Beltran should have a great year.

Andray Blatche

Shaquille O'Neal

Pau Gasol

Devin Harris

should i go ahead and drop andray blache?

Basketball--------------------... fantasy!!!1?
Pick up Larry Hughes and drop Randy Foye. Word out of Minnesota just recently is that he'll be gone another month or so. Also, drop Blatche and get Kurt Thomas. You're thin with boards because Haywood doesn't rebound much and its only Shaq and Pau doing the rebounding. Get Kurt Thomas because he's almost always sure of getting at least 8 rebounds on any given night. But then again, you could drop Haywood rather than Blatche because Songaila just got injured and Blatche may get his minutes off the bench.
Reply:i'll drop andray, but i dont know about picking up hughes, he's injury prone and is injured right now, louis williams is probably the best waivers there
Reply:Dude you gotta pick up my man Lou WIlliams for South Gwinnett High! This kid is really coming to his full potential. Trust me pick him up and you won't regret.

I really wanna win this league. I hate my commish. We've been barking at each other for like the past month or so. He's a Phoenix suns fan. We were trash talking in good spirits until my Lakers smoked his suns on Friday and then he started making personal insults

dont listen to tristan, he's probably some lame *** bandwagon fan, that only started watching the suns becuase they were doing good, and had no idea who the hell was on the team. wait how many championships do the lakers have??? oh yea and the suns.................... my point

with that crybaby d'antoni

anyways your team looks pretty solid, look for more players on the fa market, and stuff, im guessing marion was your first pic. its gonna be a close game good luck buddy =]
Reply:First off Dunleavy or Butler are not even close to being called elite fowards. Marions' a given. Wanna gamble? Conley Jr. bro. Larry Hughes is lost right now, dont know what happened, but he cant play the point and his jumper is gone. McGrady alone could beat 3 of your starters at any given time. Get a PG and an ELITE foward. His starting 5 will eat u up if u dont.
Reply:for the other guy who is talking **** ive like the suns till 93 so stfu
Reply:You can't win against your commish's team, dude. It's hard to win with your team, honestly.

You lack quality Cs, PGs, and even SGs.

C: Brad Miller and Diaw may be good with 3s, FT%s, PTS, ASTS, and other point-guardy stats, but they can't provide you with solid center stats. Diaw just got 11 assists in their game against the Bobcats, but he didn't rebound much. He fills out some holes left out by your shortage in PGs, though. So does Miller, who is a good passer and 3-pointer. He can't block though.

Your only blockers are Marion and Iguodala, and probably Artest. You can't match up with his team in this position. He has, Chandler%26lt;wow%26gt;, Amare%26lt;double WOW%26gt;, Krstic, and Boozer%26lt;that's enough @_@%26gt;. Work on this position. Probably get Pryzbilla and Mourning.

PGs: Jameer and Knight are two inconsistent guards, for different reasons. Knight cannot get enough playing time with the Clippers, with Dickau, Cassell, and Livingston%26lt;who is injured, but should be back to reduce Knights minutes even more%26gt;. Mike Dunleavy Sr., though, is reducing Cassell's playing time, who will turn 38 in two weeks. He has been splitting minutes with Knight, so maybe it's not that bad to keep him after all. You will still lose in this position to your commish, though. He has Tinsley who has been stepping it up, Monta who can score and rebound, Gibson who can shoot lots of threes, and Rondo who can steal. Work on this position too. Get some trades. You may have passing forwards and centers, but you can get better point guard stats with a true point guard. %26lt;WOW! Chris Paul 21 assists!!%26gt;

SG/SF: No pure shooter. You'll lose to his team in 3ptm and points. %26lt;WOOWWW! Peja Stojakovic 10 threes!!!!%26gt;

So there. Unless you fix your team well, and his players all get injured%26lt;or at least the stars%26gt;, it's hard to win against him. He got good quality players. Gibson and Rondo should've been in the Free Agents pool in your league before, and he got them first. Steal picks. He's kinda wise. I have all his players at least once in my teams.Though hitting personally isn't really right.

Good luck. Prove your worth. Watch out for steal picks. And don't forget to get Elton Brand weeks before the All-Star break. =)
