Everton fans - Moyes?

Been reading articles from some fans wanting Moyes out - whilst I disagree and want him to stay, I like to speculate every now and then as to who I would want to replace him should he leave. I've compiled a list of my own ideal (but realistic) replacements, in order of preference:

1%26gt; Mark Hughes - big name, played for us, able to attract good players, intelligent manager.

2. Sam Allardyce - record speaks for itself with a tiny club, Bolton play better football than given credit for, would jump at the chance to manage a big club.

3. Chris Coleman - also intelligent manager, would do a good job

4. Billy Davies - lack of prem exp but so did moyes

5. Mike Newell - decent record, former Blue

What are your thoughts?

Everton fans - Moyes?
Moyes has his flaws (his lack of understanding of attacking football and his inability to see the substitutions which would change a game), but under him we seem to have shaken off the relegation hoodoo and become a no-nonsense, solid 7th - 12th position team. I think we give him more time to see if he can develop the team into one which regularly challenges for European football.

Any chances of challenging regularly for the Premiership are, sadly, more to do with financial resources than managerial capabilities. I'm not sure any of the names you mention could take us further than Moyes.

And don't forget, fellow Blues, Monday is the centenary of the birth of William Ralph Dean - gentleman, footballer, Evertonian.

Reply:Mr Sceptic has it about right... You could do with Dixie in your side....
Reply:Moyes has done well for us to be fair. He's brought in some good players and hopefully will continue to do so. Looking forward to a good win at Wigan tomorrow.
Reply:Without the financial backing you can't compete with the big boys, no matter who's in charge. My favourite by far, would be Moyes.

Once your club gets sold, as you know it will, Moyes will have the clout to take you places. Until then, just keep treading water.

Of the Managers that you have listed, is there anybody that would take your club significantly higher than Moyes does now? No.
