Is my fantasy baseball team good?
If Chris Young gets some plate discipline, you should be okay. I'm not sure that you want a SS as a utility guy. Try trading either Tuls or Jeter for a heavier stick. You may also want to find a way to get some stronger pitching. Remember that Chamberlain may get turned into a starter and if he isn't, he'll be setting up Rivera so you need to get another closer. Percival may not be a safe option and Isringhausen is closing for a team that may struggle to give him save opportunities.
You gotta like having Ortiz and Holliday in your lineup. Hopefully Byrnes will continue to play the way he has the last two years. He seems to love Arizona. You may want to hold onto Beltre since Chipper is already having health issues this spring.
With all due respect, I think that your pitching could be better for both SP and RP. I think this is going to hurt you more than a low amount of SB's.
You may finsih in the top tier of your league, but you are going to have to do some work on your team to get there.
Reply:Not too bad at all really...but 3 things
1. you have absolutely no speed and it will hurt you more than you think it will
2. I'm not to big on Chris Young...atleast not the batter..the pitcher from S.D. is a stud though.
3. I would have Percival in instead of Chamberlain unless you get holds. People seem to be so in love with the guy that they forget he is mearly a set-up man right now. He may be good enough to close or start, but he isn't doing either right now and therefore unless you really think you'll need the help in ERA and or WHIP he really isn't that relevant as anything other than a bench guy in fantasy.
Reply:Its insanely good, but then its also within reason since its an 8 person team. The only thing that I would suggest is over the first 1 - 2 months start dropping extra bench batters and pick up more pictchers that are performing. If you are in a league where you can change your lineup daily then more pitchers will really help you win those categories.
Reply:Your pitchers are pretty bad for only having 8 teams....
Reply:Wheres the speed? Lucky for me i picked up Juan Pierre, and Shane Victorino, guys like this really help your team.
