theres another player laying around somewhere that I cant pull up at this time.
My questions are:
A) Do I really need more pitching considering pitchers only go in about 1 time every 5 days? Are saves really that important anymore?
B) Do you think trading Adrian Gonzalez for Chris Young would be a good offer? As you can see, I am lack on HR, but is my pitching weak enough that sacrificing the HR slot is worth getting a solid SP?
Fantasy team help/ 14 team league?
a) You need to jettison Wakefield ASAP. He'll get you a few wins but his ERA/WHIP and lack of Ks will hurt you. While you're at it, lose Pie. He's a dog and you can probably pick up Chase Headley to replace him. That's H-E-A-D-L-E-Y; you'll thank me later.
b) Young only averages 12 wins and even though his ERA/WHIP and Ks are good you may not want to sacrifice power for him. Of course, if Joey Votto is available he could take up some of the slack so dealing Gonzalez wouldn't kill you.
Reply:in my opinion i would try to get better pitching. I am a redsox fan and i would have drafted both buchholz and lester. that is a big chance to take on 2 rookies with limited major league experience.
Reply:A. I don't think you need more pitchers, but saves are definetely important. If you have a good closer, he'll do much more than just get saves. He'll lower your ERA and WHIP as well.
B. It's a fair trade, and I would take it. Other than Verlander, your SP is very unreliable. Young is a great pitcher who can be unhittable at times. Your hitting is much better than your pitching, so you can afford to make this deal.
Hope I helped!
