NBA Fantasy Patience?!?

I have Kirilenko and Larry Hughes on my team. Hughes is Killing and i mean Killlllling my FG%. and AK47 is just killing me as far as his potential and potential.

Now i have these guys in my 10 team leagues as free agents:

Q. Richardson

David West

Peja

Jarrett Jack

Desmond Mason

Chris Webber

Troy Murphy

Give me the best Advice... i got $250 on this Fantasy Season. And person that seems knowledgeable will most def get the 10 pts. Thnx in advance.

If anything, i believe i should trade Ellis, or D. Stoudamire.

NBA Fantasy Patience?!?
I feel your frustration. AK and Hughes have been major disappointments this year...but you should seriously drop D.Stoudamire before AK or Hughes. Here's why...

Stoudamire had a few good games recently but his minutes are overall inconsistent and he doesn't play a big role on that team. His season averages are 8 pts, 3 reb, 4 ast. To be honest, I would drop Stoudamire for any one of the guys on your FA list. Here's why in order of best to worst choices...

QRich - playing well after coming back from injury. good at rebounding and shooting 3's. minutes a little inconsistent in NY's rotation but a lot more steady than stoudamire's. averages 14 and 7.

Mason - plays consistent minutes and putting up decent stats lately. gets fair share of shot attempts with Hornet's injury problems but production might drop when some guys get healthy. puts up close to 14 a game and chips in 5 reb but turns the ball over frequently.

D.West - unfortunately he's injured and not sure when he's coming back but when he does play averages 17 and 10. Shoots a good FG% too. Probably the best guy on the list to keep an eye on.

T.Murph - Hasn't played well after coming back from injury. Not playing consistent minutes right now, but could play well if he gets traded or starts at center for the Warriors. averaging 9 and 6 and shoots the 3 ball well for a big man.

C.Webb - apparently signed with Detroit and probably won't get much play time on an already deep Piston front court. he could also blow up with a change of scene. was averaging 11, 8 and 3

Peja - injured. apparently not coming back for another 2 months. was averaging 18 and 4 with about 3 three's a game. definitely worth the pick up if he were healthy.

Jack - numbers pretty inconsistent and not a good shooter but he is a starter and puts up better stats than Stoudamire. averages 13, 3 and 6.
Reply:Whoa...

How is your depth? It would help if you posted your full team. If you are deep enough to be patient, I would say drop Ellis and pick up Peja Stojakovic - but I don't know when he will be back from INJ.

As far as Hughes and Kirilenko, I would say to try to trade Kirilenko. I had him and got some good players (high ranking made me a good deal - I got Gerald Wallace AND Tayshaun Prince for Kirlienko to a team that needed blocks). You can probably get someone decent for Kirilenko. Hang on to Hughes - he is inconsistent. Try to trade him during a hot streak. (Possibly for more of a slasher at G)

Q- Takes too many bad shots. Do not pick up.

West - Too injury prone. He wasn't doing too well to begin with.

Peja - If you can afford to wait till he gets back, swap him with Ellis. (You must be deep @ G though)

Jack - Only a desperation pick if you need Asst. He is better than Stoudemire though.

Mason - Horrible FG%, nothing really good except exciting dunks

Webber - Pick him up if he goes to the Bulls or Pistons. He should be a good post presence... Maybe 16 pts, 7 reb? He is very risky though.

Murphy - Not playing very well, but he is going for GSW, they play real fast... have to lay off though.

In recap: Pick up Webber if he goes to Bulls or Pistons. Trade AK47. Trade Hughes during a hot streak. Pick up Peja if you have deep G and can afford to wait on him.

Hope this helps!

Reply:You dont mention your roster so it is difficult to see where you need to improve nor do you mention which catergories are your weakest. You need to evaluate your weaknesses and see which FA address those needs but of the players you mention West and Peja are injured and neither has a timeline of when they will be back. Mason and Q are iffy and inconsistant at best and would be nothing more than bench players that could fill in as spot starters depending on matchups. The best gambles in this lot would be Jack as he is a starter (got injured, worth monitoring), Webber (he will have his most value if he signs with either the Pistons or Lakers as both will use him as a scorer that will give 5-6 rebounds and should post very good FG%) and Murphy as he is starting to get healthy and should see increased palying time as the season moves along. Remember last year he was a double/double machine with good %'s and plays on a runnig team that needs bodies as they have been hit hard by the injury bug.

If by Ellis you mean Monta Ellis I would keep him for the same reasons as I mentioned with Murphy. Trade Stoudemire if you need to move one of the 2. Good Luck!
Reply:Defiantly pickup Q. Richardson and drop Hughes. And AK should be doing just fine for you. Get rid of Hughes though. Q. Richardson is a star and he is now back from injury.
Reply:I got hughes too, i know where you're coming from. trade him, don't cut him pls, somebody will give you somethin for him. As for kirilenko, u should package him will ellis and get somethin nice. As for your free agents. Desmond Mason, has a good situation he's a scorer on a team without their leading scorer in Paul, he's a good option, but he's sketchy, doesn't always show. I have to say that chris webber, no matter where he goes, is gonna be a solid 14pts, 8/9rebs and 4ast, if i can get that as a backup i'd do it. I don't know what you got on your team but 25pts and 20 rebs from 2 centers is good. Don't go with Richardson, stay away from anybody on a knicks squad who isn't a big man, way too many interchangeable peeps out there. So yeah those are my suggestions, I guess that these are who you consider to be your best free agents...look up ruben patterson (no michael redd remember) and maybe nick collison, he's comin on strong, but horrible foul shooter.
Reply:im sure theres someone in your league that will take either of them (hughes/ak47). as far as FA, see where webber ends up. he could either be back as a fantasy stud or continue to be a fantasy dud. jack is a pretty solid #2 PG who will give u something like 12-16 ppg, 6 apg, 1spg. ive lost hope in peja. q-rich is always a question, as is all the G/Fs on NY. david west is injured, but if u want to gamble when he returns, do it. i was never sold on mason. and i have no idea what the situ is with murphy and why hes not starting and posting double doubles. also keep ellis and trade stoudemire to some team that lacks a PG (or drop him for one of the FA).
