How can I improve my current fantasy baseball roster?

My current roster is below. My league has 12 teams, 5 x 5 categories BA, R, RBI, HR, SB, W, K, ERA, WHIP, Sv. I currently am in 2nd place mainly because of my pitching. I feel like I need to make an offensive move but I'm not sure what to do. My league is very competitive so there are not a lot of free agents available. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you.

I would stay the course...your team has a nice combo of power and speed. Guys like Beckett will be off the DL soon and Wright is starting to hit again. Its only May...have some patience
Reply:First of all, drop Henry Owens. According to the link below, Kevin Gregg is going to be the Marlins' closer, and the way he's been pitching, he's not going to lose the job. So there's your opening (unless you have him on the DL). If you want to take a chance, try picking up Mark Reynolds, the D'Back's replacement for Chad Tracy. He's hitting .393 since being called up, and considering the way he tore up the minors, I'm betting he doesn't lose the job when Tracy comes back in 2 or 3 weeks (or they'll put him in Stephen Drew's place).

In general, though, look through the list of available short stops. Tulowitzki is absolutely horrendous. There's got to be someone better than him out there. Maybe Orlando Cabrera.

Finally, try rotating through your backups to fill your roster on travel days. It's not like Jackson Connor is much better than the best guy available in free agency, and by adding one or two guys who actually play on each travel day, you'll add to 4 of your offensive stats.
Reply:If you are in a 12 team league, and, you have that large a roster, not much you can do. Stay as current as you can on injuries, call ups, hot streaks, etc. And hope for a little luck!
Reply:I assume Jose Reyes was unavailable at the time? Teixeira might be a good add for offense.
Reply:Your team is looking pretty good for down the road, but if you feel you need to make a change, here is my advise. Trade for Zimmerman. Hes been slow to start the season, but he is beginning to turn it up and you could easily get him cheap. You might also want to consider trading away Sosa. Sure he has the history of being a great power hitter and he has been doing well so far this season, but i do not see him continuing his success
Reply:Team looks good for now. Just keep on injuries and current trends. Lots of players are hot one minute and go into slumps the next. I would check the available players daily and see if you can add anyone who can produce. Other than that, let the boys take their course. Good luck!
